Before Revelation tells us what will happen, it shows us who Jesus is. But what John saw in his vision in Revelation 1 could not be adequately captured by human words. This is not a literal picture of Jesus, but a symbolic portrait revealing who He is—His glory, holiness, authority, power, and divine nature.
